A correction in the lyric of 'Kun Fayakun' ( By Hummaa Member Mr. Sunil R . S )
The meaning of the phrase "Jab kahin pe kuch nahin bhi nahin tha" is not just "When, [in the world] there was nothing", but "When [in the world] there was NOT EVEN nothing". If you read the Sufiana line (Jab kahin pe...) carefully, you'll notice the missing link (bhi nahi).
One would ask, 'What's the difference?'. There's the key.
The Sufi philosophy - which is very much in agreement with the Vedic texts on this point - says that, if you trace Creation backward, before 'The World' - if 'Nothing' existed, it ('nothing') too, 'existed'- as the idea and notion suggests. Isn't that untrue to God?
In other words- if 'the World' was preceded by 'Nothing', what was there before 'Nothing'? And if nothing existed before 'Nothing', it would bring in a menacing principle that The One isn't omnipresent, but came in later 'after ' Nothing'. So, the philosophy wisely - and not just diplomatically - gives answer that 'The One' was present even before there was 'Nothing'- or, in poetic words '... kuch nahin BHI nahin tha...'!
In fact the ancient text 'Nasadeeya Sukta' from Rigveda STARTS with the phrase 'Nasadaseen-no-sadaseet..." which means exactly the same as "Jab kahin pe...".
