About Uday
Eighteen years of corporate life and becoming vice-president in firms like Satyam and Reliance, Uday decided to quit the `mad race.'"Life is short and no point in being stressful. God has put a wonderful limitation on each person. I wanted to do something, which gives me pleasure. The call of music was too strong to resist," he says.Of course, he worked towards achieving adequate financial security before taking the plunge. The `inherent music sense' and being an avid listener of classical and film music of `all languages' was a big help. "I used to sing a lot and had the habit of humming tunes irritating my mates," he laughs. From the worldwide web he learnt to play the keyboard as well as Carnatic and Hindustani musical notes over the years on "each raga, tala and how they can be aligned".The idea of composing music came when "suddenly tunes started flowing into my mind."Since he could not write the tunes he began to record them. And to get a firm footing in Carnatic music, Uday also started formal learning."Composing is a divine suggestion and can occur at any time - during your sleep, in the bathroom, etc., so I carry my recorder always"!
