CORRECTION: During Ezhutthachan’s period, “VATTEZHUTHU" (meaning rounded letters), a script (consisting of 30 alphabets) originally employed to write Thamizh, is generally believed to have been applied in Kerala in writing.
The error in the word "vattezhuthu" is regretted.

Adhyatma Ramayanam (the current Hummaa album) is the version of Ramayanam in MalayaLam written by the poet, Thunchatthu Ramanujan Ezhuthachan (also Thunjath; Thunchath; period: 16th or 17th century BPE). “Adhyatma” refers to spirituality (inquiry of soul, inner self). Ezhuthachan’s version of Ramayana brims with devotion and has been employed for everyday chanting in KeraLa for the last three centuries. Adhyatma Ramayanam comprises six cantos. During Ezhutthachan’s period, “vattezhuthu” (meaning rounded letters), a script (consisting of 30 alphabets) originally employed to write Thamizh, is generally believed to have been applied in Kerala in writing. Ezhutthachan completed his MalayaLam works in a “grantha” based script, originally utilized to write Sanskrit, which enabled him to accurately transliterate Sanskrit words into MalayaLam. His works gained enormous popularity along with the writing system that he had originated.
