I just realized the prelude for this song is the eager anticipation and longing of the Gopis, in waiting, assembled with Radha for the arrival of Krishna. So the first ecstatic news that he had arrived on the ras-lila grounds was heralded by the swaying dance of the peacocks. The ecstasy then continues with the coming of music, spell-binding melodies wafting from the flute and subsequently, the enchanting dance itself, the amazing sight of dancing Krishna as he mingled with each of the Gopis with Radha singing into the night.

The lines go on to describe the beauty of Krishna as he dances to the song of Radha,, everything on his person from his face, eyes, feet to his ornaments dance and sway, even the grazing cows forget to chew cud and stand transffixed entranced by the beauty of it all......

This song reveals the dexterity of Ooothukadu in sanskrit language too apart from his famour tamil songs on Lord Krishna.

I like his so called gimmicks while singing which produce a fusion effect of both carnatic and hindustani music with a nice bhava and feel of reaching exctasy in divine music.

Poetic excellence in this composition by Oothukadu.

I like most of his songs..but a few gimmicks here n there upsets the smooth flow...may be some like it..some don't I am probably one of those who believe in adhering to originality rather than experimentation...particularly so with carnatic music..
